For parents & guardians
Beyond is a real-world trading game, not a chat app. Here’s exactly how age, privacy and money work.
You don’t need to know the game already. Start here, read it together, and ask us anything that isn’t clear.
01 / Different ages, different boundaries
Room to play. Clear limits.
Private leagues
13–15
Play in private leagues with people they already know. Not on the public leaderboard. Joining needs a parent to say yes.
Cash only when trading. Or try Sidequests: no money, buying or selling.
Bill-made alias
16–17
Show up on the public leaderboard, but under a Bill-made alias — never their real name or handle.
The public leaderboard starts at 16.
Adult players
18+
Full public leaderboard under their own name, and can trade on outside online marketplaces.
See where you can trade for the forthcoming full guidance.
Where you can trade ↗“You confirm first. Bill takes it from there.”
For 13–15-year-olds, a parent or guardian confirms before play.
02 / A grown-up in the loop
No chat. No DMs.
No photos uploaded to strangers.
Under 16s play in private leagues with people they know, cash only, and a parent confirms before they start. Beyond has no open chat between players — just Bill Says, a fixed set of phrases Bill uses to talk to everyone. Nothing a player writes goes anywhere public.
Prefer a no-money start?
Sidequests are made for juniors aged 13–15, and anyone 13+ can play. No buying, selling or leaderboard. Photos and stories stay on the phone; only “quest done” reaches Beyond.
Explore Sidequests together ↗03 / Joining, without the mystery
What we collect when someone joins.
Joining asks for a birth month and year (and, right at the 13th-birthday boundary, a day — just enough to check the age threshold precisely), a country or region, and an email address for the sign-in link.
The server checks the age independently of anything the app already showed. Once that’s done, we keep exactly three things: an age band, the country string, and a timestamp. The date of birth and the email address are both discarded straight away — never stored.
What we keep
After the joining check:
- An age band
- The country string
- A timestamp
What we never keep
From the joining form:
- Date of birth
- Email address
Both are discarded straight away after the check, not stored.
Your next step
Still have a question? Good.
You should feel comfortable before they start. Ask about the game, the boundaries or anything in this guide.
